„As a drummer, I am most interested in redefining the role of my instrument in this type of music. There are but few examples I could imitate, as tango groups typically manage without a drummer. Consequently, much of our music doesn’t have a part for drums. I improvise almost freely which is similar to Jazz throughout the compositions. A simple rhythmic accompaniment would be too boring for me anyways. I try to create a rhythmic and tonally independent voice alongside the violin, piano, accordion and bass.“
